Star Trac 4000 Speed and Elevation Calibration

How to recalibrate the speed and elevation on your Star Trac 4000

Star Trac 4000 owners have noted that some treadmills go faster than others, even though the display reads the same. According to Star Trac, speed variation between treadmills can be caused by improper calibration of the PWM in the motor control board. By running a simple calibration procedure, you can recalibrate your Star Trac 4000 treadmills.

1. Turn off the treadmill by flipping the ON/OFF switch at the base of the machine near the power cord.

2. Push and hold the 8 key, then turn the switch back on.

3. Press the heart-shaped key on the display.

The treadmill will then automatically go through a recalibration procedure, resetting the PWM and the elevation system to factory specifications.
